Let Investing in our future generations start today with two ‘must do’ courses, designed by OnSide North West, that any organisation working with young people should take advantage of.
Young Leaders
The Young Leaders course prepares young people to take a lead role in delivering projects and
services. Whether you want to develop a one off leadership project or create a new team of young
volunteers, the Young Leaders course will help develop their knowledge, skills and attitudes to become an effective young leader. The course can be delivered in a variety of formats, the most effective is two consecutive days.
“On the young leaders course I learnt a great deal of techniques that can be used when working with young people from all backgrounds. I also learnt about how young people react in certain conditions and how best to deal with these. I really enjoyed the course and feel I got a lot out of it.” Josh Payne (17)

Independence Leaders
This Independence Leaders course is ideal for organisations looking to widen their provision to include young people with disabilities. Working on the Better Together principle of inclusive and integrated working. The Independence Leaders course will encourage young people to develop the knowledge, skills and attitude they need to act as a ‘buddy’ to young people within an organisation that have a disability, and support them to get actively involved in a youth work environment.
OnSide North West is committed to developing best practice for inclusive youth work and in supporting young people in their transition into adulthood.
